The 2023 Honda CR-V has arrived at Portland Street Honda!
October 17 2022,
The new 2023 CR-V has arrived at PSH with major updates and a new hybrid option!
The Honda CR-V has long been the top SUV/Crossover choice for Canadians thanks to the performance, safety and comfort that Honda vehicles are famous for. On any given day, you're bound to see several of them on the road (or possibly even parked next to another Honda). With the arrival of the new 2023 model, though, the number of CRVs in town is about to stand out even more!
Virtually all aspects of the new CR-V have been revamped. From full-scale redesigns to thoughtful tweaks and enhancements, the new CR-V has been upgraded in almost every category that counts.
All-New Exterior Design
The first thing you're bound to notice about the new CR-V is its rugged good looks. The new CR-V's design takes its design cues from the large truck and SUV market to provide a more adventure-ready stance. With an enlarged upright grille and extended hood, the CR-V is set to charge ahead. The vehicle's cabin has also been widened and lengthened to give a sportier appearance that, in turn, lowers the centre of gravity for improved off-road performance.
Improved Off-Roading
The new 2023 CR-V benefits from some significant new features to make it a genuine off-road contender. "Hill Descent Control" allows for a steady speed of 3-20km/h to be automatically maintained on steep gradients, leaving the driver to concentrate on steering and additional brake management.
The CR-V also offers selectable driving modes (a very popular feature on other Honda models) for traction and throttle optimization in snowy and muddy conditions, along with options for regular pavement driving, high economy, and an available sport mode for more aggressive performance.
Upgraded Milage
The lower three trims in the new 2023 CR-V run a capable 1.5L turbo gas engine offering 190 horsepower and 179lb-ft of torque.
A refined turbocharger design helps maintain maximum output over a broader range of engine RPMs, while an improved exhaust system significantly reduces engine noise. Honda has also promised that this new engine creates significantly lower emissions thanks to its higher efficiency levels.
In-Cabin Technology
Inside, the CR-V has also received an important upgrade. The 2023 model now includes a 7-inch digital instrument gauge as well as a standard 7-inch touchscreen display. However, this touchscreen has been expanded into a 9-inch unit on the higher trims, and a wireless charge pad is available to complement the standard range of USB ports for device charging.
New Hybrid Option
We've saved the largest (and most highly anticipated) upgrade for last, however.
With the 2023 model, Honda Canada has introduced an athletic new hybrid CR-V powertrain. The gasoline side of the equation is handled by a 2.0L four-cylinder engine, which is boosted by a pair of electric motors to give a combined output of 204 horsepower and 247lb-ft of torque.
The Honda CR-V is already a top pick, and the new 2023 CR-V looks poised to easily capture the bestseller title yet again.
Perhaps the best news in all of this; is that Portland Street Honda has been receiving regular shipments of the new CR-V, ready for you to take home.
