What You Need to Know: 2020 Honda Pilot
February 21 2020,
Honda’s entry into the mid-size SUV segment is a very good one, loaded with safety technology, creature comforts, interior space and the right amount of swagger on the road, so it’s not surprise for the 2020 model year, not much has changed with the Pilot since the previous model. But, you know what they say; if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
The Honda Pilot most definitely ain’t broke, which is why you’ll find the same peppy 3.5L V6 engine that produces 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque under the hood. The LX and EX models are the only two that feature the 6-speed automatic transmission, while the EX-L Navi, Touring (7-passenger and 8-passenger) and Black Edition are all equipped with Honda’s 9-speed automatic transmission with Grad Logic Control and paddle shifters.
That last trim level might be unfamiliar, as it should be because it’s all new for 2020: the Black Edition. What exactly it is? Well, Honda put together a special edition Honda Pilot that features all the amenities of the Touring model with a few added details that set it apart from the rest. For starters, it is only available in either Crystal Black Pearl or Platinum While Pearl, and the 2020 Honda Pilot Black Edition sports unique 20” black alloy wheels. The exterior receives various gloss black accents ans well as body-coloured handles. There’s also Black Edition emblems on the floor mats and stitching on the seats, as well as red ambient lighting in the cabin.
Another thing you need to know about the 2020 Honda Pilot is how surefooted and sturdy it is to drive. Easy to command, but planted on the road, the Pilot offers all the standard safety features you’d come to expect from the Japanese automaker with their Honda Sensing technology that features a Forward Collision Warning System, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Departure Warning system, Lane Keeping Assist System, and a Road Departure Mitigation system all designed to keep you safely on the road.
Of course, there’s a lot to know about the 2020 Honda Pilot, so you’ll want to head down to your local Portland Street Honda dealer to speak to one of our experts, and to check out the all-new Black Edition in person. And don’t forget to book a test drive, too.
